My mom bought me my first tattoo for my 16th birthday, a white daisy (although I'd like to get it redone in pink) on my right shoulder.
Daisies are my favorite flowers. This tattoo reminds me to stay true to who I am.
I bought my second tattoo for my 20th birthday, blue and purple shooting stars on my right foot.
My third tattoo was a random act of tattooedness during my junior year of college, the word "beautiful" in Arabic on my lower back. (Yes, I have a tramp stamp.)
This tattoo is actually the result of being bullied. This reminds me that I am beautiful, both inside and out. I don't need anyone to tell I am beautiful because I know I am. And I know I'm strong enough now to say that and mean it.
I got my fourth tattoo with my mom and sister, a four-leaf clover on my left wrist.
Now I'm ready for a fifth tattoo.
All of my tattoos represent different parts of my life thus far. I want one that represents my life now as a wife and, more importantly, a mother. I want this tattoo to represent my children. I would add to it as I have more kids, so each child would be a part of my tattoo. I want to get it on the left side of my body, just under my breast and close to my heart.
I'm thinking along the lines of a momma bird and her baby birds. I love these necklaces from Uncommon Goods and I think it could make a very cool tattoo.
I also really like the idea of a "family tree" type tattoo. Trees are Irish symbols of fertility, life, and family. This "family tree" caught my eye:
Hmmm...decisions decisions. I won't be getting this before the end of the summer though, so I have some time to figure it out. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Do you have any tattoos?
